Giving Into the Illusory Controls
Do you like this story?
Most of us worry without having a conscious control over it. It’s just like an automatic mode or repetitive negative thoughts and negative self talk. Most of the people have become overly concerned with the events that have not yet happened; the future, because we are not certain about what the future will bring us. We allow ourselves to worry when we are not in a position to take any action. Human mind is disciplined to keep itself in a working state. It doesn’t stop, ever, or relax so, worrying almost becomes a means of keeping the mind occupied. If it can’t do anything about a situation, it will just worry about it.
People dream of a fearful future, hold on to the negative view of future, and keep worrying about it. It’s the uncertainty of future that has bound a lot of people to worry, while, some people are overwhelmingly concerned about what others think of them. These people will go to the extent of saying and doing the things others like, just to get their approval. These thoughts, behaviors and worries seem to be so much a part of us that we assume it's actually a part of being human. At times, ineffectively worrying seems like a habit we are raised up with and once the habit is acquired, it seems hard to break.
When you realize this is the case, it’s right about the time to stop being so concerned about the results. Let it be what it will be. The choice of how the events are going to unfold doesn’t lie with you. You cannot be held responsible for occurrence of certain things, like for being diagnosed with a terminal illness, for a death, a financial collapse etc. Likewise, you cannot stop others from thinking something about you, from misunderstanding you, neither can you make something occur or stop it from happening.
You need to realize that you’re not in control of an aspect of your life and never have been. You have been clinging to an illusion in order to survive. You have to get back the control of your mind, thoughts and life. Let go of the thoughts that control your life in manner that is leading it to ruination. By sticking to these thoughts you are losing your energies and your attractiveness. Now, you need to let go of your unrealistic approach because it is not working in the right direction and accept that you’re clueless about how to handle the chaos you are facing including that excessively worrying part.
Whatever you are trying is not giving any reliable settlement of the unrest you are facing, so you must open the door for the expectations that are opposite in polarity to what you already have in your mind. Go with the flow and you will be given your share of happiness. Don’t assume there’s nothing good in store for you.
Keywords: control, life, illusions, future, worries, happiness.
