A Change or Transition?

Do you feel powerless when you need to take decisions? Millions of people experience stress because of being able to do nothing about their life. They feel anxious about what is coming their way. Being stuck with the same routine, stress, work, no time for you own self is tedious, while, the idea of change also repels a lot of people because they’re uncertain about what the change would be. It might be worse than what they are currently living with.
The fear of change or transition creates a concern or sometimes an adverse effect on people’s life. Many of them don’t know what an effective decision is making; hence, they remain uncertain about what’s going to happen. This fear and anxiety effects these people even while making the simpler decisions. If you have realized that you are anxious about the change, transition or taking decisions that will bring change then observe how do you react? Do you stop? Hinder the process and keep dwelling in negativity?
Most people in the world resist transition and not change. We often cannot define what a transition is and what a change is. Change is a shift based on smaller scale, smaller span and takes less time; while, transition is a process of letting go of the way things used to be. A change could be shifting home while a transition will be taking hold of things how they have subsequently become. Transition has an episode of chaos between the time you let go and time you settle with what is coming afterwards.
People resist chaos because it takes too much time. It‘s a three phase process; letting go, chaos or neutral span, beginning again. The neutral zone is a limbo where the newer self is formed gradually and the span is sometimes very tiring. Many people abort the process at that point and end being in the state where they started. The change that has occurred so far is not going to work.
We need to allow ourselves some time to go through this transition, especially this neutral or chaotic phase. Take your time, honour your feelings and honour yourself for going through a transition. Do the sorting you need to and don’t lose patience. Keep reminding yourself of a new beginning. Once you are ready, embrace your new beginning.
As we understand our relation with change and transition, we might have become habitual of taking powerful decision and making finer choices. We instinctually choose what starts the growth and what functions well. This is the point when we have created our freedom and lost our fear of change and transitions.
Keywords: change, transition, transformation, decisions, choices, fear, anxiety.
