Frustration: How to Deal?
Do you like this story?
Have you ever been thwarted in achieving your goals? A project at work or having guests while dinner is not at the table on right time or getting stuck in traffic when you are already late for your destination. No matter what the situation is, it feels like you are running it circles. It’s different for everyone but everyone has experienced these moments of frustration, that irritation which makes you want to pull all your hair out, scream loud, cry or throw things.
Frustration can have a detrimental impact a person’s frame of mind, turning him from a positive person into a totally negative person. It has all the powers to curb our efficiency, progress and can completely entrap us within itself. It can divest us of our ration thinking powers. Being so wound up with our frustration also gives birth to aggression.
To win our freedom from frustration we need to be persistent in our action against it. We need to take massive measures to fight against frustration. Anticipate well and divert your energies in that direction.
Use positive affirmation to deal with frustration. When you are not achieving your goals and not coming up to your expectation, don’t talk yourself down. Never indulge in activities that undermine your efforts, instead, use positive affirmation. This will keep your focus on your objectives. Dwelling on negative things is always counterproductive, hence, gives way to more frustration. If you have a habit of telling yourself negative things, then overcome this habit. Words are powerful and wonderful carriers of energy. Use them for positive work.
Try break away, just for a while till you calm down, from the situation that is causing you to feel frustrated. This ever means to run away from the situation. Breaking away for a handsome amount of time will break the repeated thought pattern, give you time to calm down and think with freedom. Try some relaxation techniques as they help you focus better on the issues. Staying stuck in a repeated through pattern is like wasting your energy. Taking a step back will always clear the picture and you will better understand what you need to change.
Frustration can sometimes be surprising because it makes you do things that you don’t want to do otherwise or maybe lack the courage to do. Many people never convince to change or fix things on time. One day they are frustrated and simply refuse to accept the things as they are. This might help you discover that you think you didn’t have; power to change and fix.
Frustration is a part of life and everyone faces it, but one must not yield to all this because he has what it takes to deal with frustration.
Keywords: frustration, irritation, dysfunction, improvement.
