Carla Bruni: From Hot Supermodel to Cool First Lady
Do you like this story?
Carla Bruni: Heiress. Model. Musician. First LadyThe most recent ex-first lady of France was born into privilege and led a most interesting and exciting life. Carla Bruni many remember to be the famous model and singer who had a relationships with Mick Jagger and Eric Clapton. Bruni partied with much vigour at many celebrity shindigs and in the nineties she was amongst the highest-paid supermodels in the world and hugely popular with many highly acclaimed fashion houses.
During her career as one of the highest paid models in the world, Carla Bruni was earning in excess of $7.5 million a year and living the high fashion life of the jet set.
Eventually she quit the fashion scene and decided to become a musician. Focusing purely on music Bruni has made a bit of an impact with her musical talent. Several of her songs are still used in soundtracks, the most recent being 500 Days of Summer.
She had her fair share of controversy as first lady and on the eve of a diplomatic visit to the United Kingdom Bruni was faced with having to deal with a nude photo that was being auctioned off at Christie’s Auction House. Apparently the photo sold for four times more money than anticipated and is considered one of the most expensive photos ever sold of a model.
As a keen philanthropist, Carla Bruni has always worked hard to assist the less privileged and she started a foundation that works towards the protection of children and mothers from HIV. This has all become closer to Carla’s heart since she fell pregnant and gave birth to her and Nicolas’ child. Bruni had a baby girl in 2011.
Now that Carla Bruni and Sarkozy have relinquished the presidency and First Lady positions to the new government officials, they are looking to spend more time with their baby girl and each other.
