The Most Popular Baby Names in the UK 2011

The Office of National Statistics have just released the most popular baby names that were used in 2011, the two names that have topped the chart are Harry for boys, and Amelia for girls. The BBC have put this down to the fact that one of the hottest boybands in the world at the moment – One Direction – is fronted by Harry Styles. They have also put down the name Amelia to the singer who was on the X Factor – Amelia Lily.
So if these two names were top of the charts, then what else made the list?

Top names for girls in 2011:

2 - Olivia – Olivia was the most popular name for babies in 2010 and now Amelia has taken over the hot spot. Olivia may be popular because of celebrities such as the style icon from The Hills – Olivia Palmero, or it could be because a number of celebrities have named their daughters Olivia, including Denzel Washington and James Van Der Beek.

3 – Lily – the third most popular girls name in the UK in 2011 was Lily, this is the first name of the popular singer songwriter Lily Cooper (previously Lily Allen). Lily is a very pretty name, a style that is very popular with girls names at the moment, especially choosing names which are also the names of flowers.

4 – Jessica – Jessica was the fourth most popular name of 2011 for baby girls, the name is quite traditional and has been popular for many years. This could be because of one of the nations sweethearts, Jessica Ennis, who was to become the 2012 Olympian that we could not get enough of.

5 - Emily – the fifth name, which has hit the top of the 2011 UK charts for baby girls, is Emily. This is a sweet name that is ever so popular, I know a number of people called Emily, it is a name that is classically beautiful and can go with a lot of middle names and surnames.

So we have looked at the most popular girls’ names of 2011, the boys names that followed Harry in the charts were:
2 – Oliver – Like the second most popular name for girls, Oliver was also previously the most popular name in the UK in 2010. Both names have now been pipped to the post, but are still very popular.

3 – Jack – Jack has become the third most popular name in the UK in 2011, famous celebrities with children with this name include Maya Rudolph, and celebrities who are popular with this name include Jack O’Connell – star of the TV series Skins.

4 – Alfie – Alfie is a very popular name, and was the 4th most popular for baby boys in 2011, Alfie is a modern twist on the traditional name of Alfred. This trend for reincarnating conventional names with more modern takes on them became very popular in 2011.

5 – Charlie – Charlie was the fifth most popular name for boys in 2011, this is the same as the name Alfie in that Charlie is a modern twist on the traditional name of Charles.

Other names that have entered the top 10 for baby boys and girls in 2011 were Jacob, Isabella and Eva. All in all a lot of the names that are still popular in 2012 were popular in 2011, I hope reading this inspires your baby name hunt.

This article has been written by Anna from www.babynames.co.uk who wanted to look at popular names in the UK. What are your favourite names?

5 Tips to Pay Off Credit Card Debt Fast

5 Tips to Pay Off Credit Card Debt Fast
Credit card debt is very easy to rack up because you can spend it on anything you like and continue to do so until you’ve hit your limit. Unlike other loans such as school loans and car loans which have a specific purpose, you are free to spend however you please with your credit cards, which is why many people get trapped in unmanageable debt. The average household has just under $16,000 in credit card debt but having more than that is not at all uncommon. So how can you get rid of your credit card debt faster?

The Amount of Debt
Before beginning a plan of any kind it’s important to know how much debt you really have. Many people just assume a number but have no idea exactly how deeply in debt they are. Check all of your statements, call all your credit card companies and find out exactly how much your owe. It’s easier to keep track of it if you write down the amount you owe along with the minimum payment and when it’s due. This way, you have all your records right in front of and you can begin to manage it properly.

Stop Using Your Credit Cards/Budget Yourself
This seems like common knowledge but once you start paying off your credit cards, you don’t want all your hard work for nothing by getting them racked up again. Get into the habit of planning out a budget for yourself that you can pay your expenses in cash. Keep tweaking this budget until it works for you; if you find you spend more than you should and can’t work on paying down your debt, try to lower some of your variable expenses or get a second stream of income.

The Snowball Method
The snowball method is a very simple way of saving a lot of money on interest and it’s very effective if stuck through to the end. Basically with this method, you single out your debt with the largest interest rate and focus all your money into that first; only pay the minimum payment on the remainder of your debts until the one you’re focusing on is paid off. Once that one is paid off, move onto the next highest interest rate and continue this until all your debts are paid off. By using this method, you’ll save on the accumulated interest of your high interest credit cards and can use the money that you save to accelerate your debt repayment program.

The Snowflake Method
While the snowball method focuses on putting a lot of your energy into one debt at a time, the snowflake method focuses on making very small payments as often as you can. The point of this method is the accumulation of the small change that we would otherwise spend on something we don’t need. We’re literally talking about $4.57 payments and $13.81 payments. These seem too small to matter but if you put these into your debt as often as you can, within a month that could be an extra $100 or more. By using these methods together you can get even more out of your debt plan and pay off your credit cards even faster.

Paying Debt Doesn’t Happen Overnight
Paying back debt can be a long and tedious process but it’s well worth it in the end. The important thing to remember is that consistency really is the key to succeeding and to stick to the plan no matter what. If you just pay off a little bit and then stop or continue to use it and rack it up again, you’re right back where you started. Use these steps to help pay off your credit card debt and try to keep at it for an extended period of time. By working hard and being consistent you can be out of debt in no time.

Face Blurring: YouTube's New Tool

People have posted videos to YouTube that involves them performing illegal activities or simply being inappropriate. In some cases, these videos are just seen as a nuisance. In other cases, these videos can be proof that someone broke the law.

Think of the people involved in fights who have video of the fight recorded and placed on YouTube. Other users can clearly see the faces of those involved, which means that law enforcement can see them too. In fact, many law enforcement agencies have said they turn to social media in order to catch criminals.
Now, law enforcement officials are going to have to eliminate YouTube from their criminal-catching database. On Wednesday, August 8, 2012, YouTube released a tool that allows users to blur their faces and the faces of others starring in their videos.

Now you can create all the inappropriate videos you want and post them to YouTube without worrying about getting caught.

What’s the purpose?
YouTube has stated that the purpose of the face blurring tool is not to promote illegal behavior, but to increase a user’s ability to protect themselves and their loved ones from harm. For instance, some people may want to share certain videos to help educate the world, including videos of protests, community rallies or even political campaigns, but they may have refrained from sharing this information because they didn’t want to be seen on the video. Now they can use the blur tool to remove their identity but still provide the content.

YouTube wants their millions of users to start sharing video that is newsworthy. They want people in different communities to post videos that showcase what goes on, whether gang activity, drug use, violence, terror or poverty.  YouTube hopes that the ability to share videos that contain anonymous people will generate a new type of video that we otherwise may not have been able to view. Then, maybe change can occur.

How can it go wrong?
As mentioned earlier, people are now going to blur out faces on videos of themselves doing inappropriate things. Instead of seeing a rise in valuable and newsworthy information, we’re going to find videos of schoolyard fights and other illegal activity. The young generation who use YouTube are going to have a thrill blurring their face and posting videos, especially when they know they can now star in these videos anonymously.

How do I use it?
Using the new feature is easy. Visit the Video Enhancements tool and, from there, select Blur Faces. YouTube will then blur the faces, and you will be able to preview your video before you post it live. This will help you determine if the purpose of your content is still there for you to share or if you need to take a different route.

YouTube has high hopes for their face blurring tool. If they can get people to use it for the newsworthy and educational videos they hope to inspire, it has the potential of changing the world. But if people are still hesitant to use it, or if it is used incorrectly, it’s not going to see much success.

A Brief History Of Chateau Margaux

Chateau Margaux
Today I'd like to talk about one of the greatest investments to come out of Bordeaux. One of the four original first growths. Some of the people don’t realize that back in 1855, Molten Rothschild was not classified as one of the first growths. As a matter of fact, it was the only property that was elevated from that original 1855 classification. Chateau Margaux was considered to be one of the greatest wines in Margaux Bordeaux for a very long time.
ver a hundred fifty years ago, they were classified at first growth; maybe not at the top of the tops but Margaux was a lonely Appalachian back then.

In my opinion there wasn’t really a lot of exciting stuff coming from Chateau Margaux until really just recently. Today you’ve got a lot of top level stuff coming from Margaux. Margala is a new property that we’ve just in the store; outstanding. Lostcomes had become one of the top wines in Margaux this century and a lot of other great stuff popping up: Kitneck Brown, Brine Kitneck, but Chateau Margaux is still at the top in Margaux. The top level of quality. This property was purchased in the late 70s. It had been fallen in disarray by the Megalopolis family and Karin, the daughter still runs it today and really, if you look at the great vintages of Margaux, you have 61, you have 59, which we showed at the Great Wine Seminar which Paul Pontier, the gentlemen that has run this property since 1983. Well he was brought on it in 83 to run it for – shortly after that he’s been the wine maker for one of the head guys. A really nice guy; one of the ultimate gentlemen of Bordeaux.

And we showed this property going back to 1950 including the 61. But now vintages in the 70s even though when the Megalopolis family took it over in the late 70s. In 78, it was immediately the first vintage. They were considered one of the greatest wines of the 78 vintage which was not considered a great vintage. Again in 79 and again in 1980 you could see that Margaux was again on the move and the people in charge now were willing to make the sacrifices monetarily and physically to make Margaux a great wine again. I’ve been to Chateau Margaux several times. The people there are always very accommodating and one of the big surprises for me at the Great Wine Seminar last year was the Pavillon Rouge at the Chateau Margaux and the white wine. The Pavillon Blanc, one of the greatest white wines made in the Margaux Appalachians. 100% Savion Blanc, this wine in 2006 was over 15% alcohol. Man, that is unreal. In Bordeaux you don’t see wines that are that alcoholic but you don’t notice it in this wine, incredible balance, incredible concentration, just wonderful melon, grapefruit, and almost like a lemon/oil kind of citrus to this wine.
Love the balance like I said for being so rich. You really don’t notice that it’s high alcohol. The Pavillon Rouge was created I think about the same time the Megalopolis family took over Chateau Margaux. This was to improve the quality and they actually make 16000/17000 cases of Pavillon Rouge to their 12000 cases of the first wine, Chateau Margaux and as I mentioned in previous emails, these great growths of the Medoc. The vineyards are not classified. They could make as much Chateau Margaux as they wanted to but they still have this high level of quality to adhere to and they can only come up with about 10000/12000 cases for this great growth of Margaux.

5 Ways to Teach Your Kids Heart-Healthy Habits

We all want our kids to grow up strong, and the key to their physical health is setting a good example. Especially when it comes to heart strength and vitality, it’s smart to show them what to do from an early age.

Here are five simple ways to help your family develop heart-friendly habits.

1. Practice what you preach.
A “do as I say, not as I do” attitude can be seriously detrimental to children in the long run. The best way for your teachings to actually sink in is to do as you want your kids to do.So, if you want your little ones to go outside instead of playing video games, make sure you’re also doing outdoor activities instead of watching TV. Monkey see, monkey do!

2. Make exercise a group activity.
It can be hard to fit in time for exercise, but it’s much easier if you make it a regular family event. You could all walk the family dog as a team each evening or play a game of water volleyball if you have a pool. If you are a member of a gym, see if your kids would be allowed to come along, or ask them if might want to join a sport/martial arts class.

3. Have dinner together.
It can be hard to find the time for kids and parents to eat together. However, even if you can’t do every meal as a family, make a point of eating dinner all at once, particularly at the table. This not only teaches kids heart-healthy eating practices, but it also gives loved ones a chance to bond each evening.

4. Create meals together.
A fun and easy way to teach kids about nutrition—and get them enthusiastic about nutritious fare—is to involve them in its preparation. Arrange at least one night per week where your kids can help you plan a nourishing and yummy meal from beginning to end. They can help you shop, prepare and serve.

5. Teach medical emergency preparation.
Although no one wants to think about the possibility of a cardiac emergency, it’s better safe than sorry. Teach your kids to be ready for anything that happens by keeping medical supplies on hand at home or at work. A defibrillator is one thing you can buy to help in case of a coronary-related issue. Go online to http://www.aedbrands.com to shop for heart-oriented supplies.

Top Five Things to do in London in 2012

Top Five Things to do in London in 2012
It has seemed a long time coming, but the Olympic Games finally return to London this year. Hordes of visitors, fans and competitors will be descending on the UK capital during the summer to soak up the atmosphere of the Games and enjoy the spectacle of the finest athletes on the planet competing for medals. Already established as one of the most exciting cities in the world whether you want to experience days of excitement, glamour or family fun or soak up the scintillating nightlife, London offers something for everyone.

Don’t wait for the Olympics to enjoy the city, here are five things to do in London this year:

Tuck into some hearty London grub London’s gastronomic scene is renowned around the world, with Michelin-starred restaurants galore. But for a taste of old fashioned London tuck into some hearty tucker which would have top class athletes running a mile. Pie, mash and jellied eels are traditional working class favourites which have been enjoyed on the famous streets for centuries. For bargain grub in surroundings that ooze character, try the historic Manze’s in Tower Bridge Road, which has served up pie, mash and jellied eels for 110 years.

Go to a secret party
It doesn’t get much cooler than supping cocktails in a basement bar so secret it doesn’t even have a sign on the door. Underground nightlife has always thrived in London with innovative promoters, artists and musicians keen to push the boundaries. The Candlelight Club is a 1920s-styled pop-up bar at a secret London location, while Nightjar with its hidden doorway in Shoreditch recreates the clandestine thrill of speakeasy illegal drinking dens in prohibition-era USA.

Take in a West End show
While crowds will flock to the Olympic village and its sporting arenas, visitors have been packing out London’s West End every week for decades for an altogether different form of live entertainment. With world class shows such as Les Misérables, The Phantom of the Opera, Thriller and The Lion King, whether you’re a theatre novice or seasoned theatre-goer, London’s theatres offer something for all tastes.

Enjoy a bird’s eye view
The Olympic Stadium is the latest addition to London’s iconic skyline and you can admire it along with endless other landmarks from Buckingham Palace to the Houses of Parliament if you take to the skies. Sightseeing helicopter tours offer a stylish way to get a unique perspective on the city, while the London Eye is a relaxing way to enjoy spectacular and far-reaching views.

Get athletic in the park
You can live the Olympic dream by tackling some of the routes which sportsmen and women will be taking on during the games themselves, with a enjoyable walk, run or stroll through some of London’s best parks. Famous Hyde Park will host the triathlon events, while pentathletes will be running through Greenwich Park, both of which are well worth a visit in their own right.

Samsung Galaxy S3 Features

Behind plenty of rumors, finally Samsung galaxy s3 is released on may 29 2012. The great blue gem is compared with all the great phones in market, be it Steve job’s company or other great brands.  Samsung galaxy s3 is an enormous cell with great android operating software, and better battery life.  It has battery of 100m Ah and WI-Fi that makes you plugged in for the longer period.  While picking up the Samsung galaxy s3 the impression that comes to your mind is that it is made up of plastic. Therefore, unlike those of iPhones you don’t have to handle heavier phones in your pockets. Wait! people who are thinking that it might give you cheaper look, well let me tell you that it is exclusively silver coated, which is glossy in appearance. The Samsung galaxy s3 is a hard rock solid when you flip across the metallic finish body and even handle to small hands for quite sometime. The sleek body of this gadget is almost alluring and measures around 8.55 mm, apart from this you would get volume button the one side and the power button on the other.

One of the exclusive features that Samsung galaxy S3 flags around is controlling your own gadget with your own voice. What can be more special than this? You can unlock the phone with your own voice and similarly set up four other features like taking up snaps.  While talking about the features of Samsung galaxy s3, let me tell you that when most of the gadget fails to rank among the top of the quad-core processor while playing video on window or screen, Samsung Galaxy S3 is a champ in this respect. Performance wise, it touches the excellence in uploading the WebPages quite faster and other running apps like the outstanding flipboard for android.

One thing that flickers across my mind is that while using camera, one can enjoy the fruits of PC or camera. Its high megapixel camera of 8MP, clicks clear and you can easily scroll down the bar.  The other thing that you might have never heard of with other phones is the direct call applications.  It is something like while surfing the list on contact, if you allow facing directly on the number, it will directly start calling. Doesn’t it seem amusing? It does. Actually it works on the standard idea of S-beam with android beam technology that transfers call from phone to the other.  When it comes to the accessibility of buttons, it is easy to use and awesomely manages the task bar. Excitingly there is no hide and seek game in the main menu. However, sharing photos and video would be a great experience here.
Overview:
  • Screen: 4.8” super Amoled HD display
  • Storage: 16/32/64 GB extendable memory with micro SD card.
  • Cloud storage: 50GB drop box
  • Camera: 8MP rear, 1.9 MP front
  • Battery: 2,100m Ah
  • Color: pebble blue and marble white
  • Resolution: 720×1280 Px(306ppi)
  • RAM: 1GB
  • Dimension: 136.6×70.6×8.55mm
  • Weight: 133g
  • OS: Android 4.04
  • Processor: Exynos 4 Quad(1.4GHz)

Best 5 Freebies Online

Best 5 Freebies Online
With almost everyone on a tight budget these days, retailers, restaurants and big box stores are trying to entice people to spend money trying their products. How do they do this? By offering free samples, gift cards and food! The best part is many of these free samples and items come with no obligation to buy anything. Some are special offers that you can win now through specific contests and drawings.

For the savvy shopper and online bargain hunter, you can actually save quite a lot of money by browsing through freebies and special offers. There are plenty of freebie and discount websites to check out and get the lowdown on which companies are giving away samples and gift certificates. So what are some popular freebies online?

1) Free Food
Food, including dinners and lunches from well known, quality restaurants, are one of the most popular ways companies and franchises can entice customers to try their products in hope that they will become repeat purchasers. Of course, some of these certificates and offers do come with certain restrictions; you may not be able to buy a whole meal, or you may have to buy one meal to get the second free, but it can still add up to some great food for little or no cost.

2) Electronics

Some are package deals and some are simply special offers, certificates and gift cards to retailers that sell electronic goods. With a little looking around, you can get anything from a free laptop to a free LCD TV!

3) Household Goods
What household doesn't need soap, laundry detergent, shampoo or carpet cleaner? Big retailers know that these everyday goods are some of the most purchased in their stores. These items, called "soft goods" by the industry, make up a large percentage of a retailer's profit margin. The good news for you is you can get tons of free samples online that have no obligation to buy more.

4) Magazine Subscriptions
Many magazine publishers offer trial free subscriptions with no obligation to continue the subscription after the trial period ends. With a huge selection available, there's something for almost every taste and interest. Popular freebie magazine subscriptions include outdoor sporting magazines, car racing magazines, home and garden care and fashion magazines.

5) Gift Certificates
Gift certificates are one of the best freebies around. Many of these certificates come in generous amounts of $10 or more. Most are for big name retailers that can be found in many towns and cities, making them easy to use. Some can even be used for online purchases at a store's website!

4 Great Eco-friendly Office Gadgets

4 Great Eco-friendly Office Gadgets
Going green may seem overwhelming at times, but there are numerous options that offices can employ to reduce their carbon footprints and to utilize environmentally friendly gadgets while not sacrificing work quality. Technology is constantly improving, especially in the area of energy and resource efficiency. Eco-friendly gadgets of all types abound, and the following four great, green office gadgets will help businesspeople conduct business in an efficient and environmentally friendly way.

Hand-Powered Paper Shredder

cc licensed flickr photo shared by Sh4rp_i
Shredding once-important documents with sensitive information for disposal is a common practice in most offices, but using electric shredders can consume quite a bit of electricity. The Hand-Powered Paper Shredder offered by uncommongoods.com allows the employee to shred up to three documents at once without using any electricity. All a person has to do is to twist two end caps in the opposite direction in order to shred the documents as thoroughly as would an electric counterpart. This handy hand-powered shredder also allows its users to burn off some of that built-up office stress while working the end caps, leading to less tension in the workplace.

USB Cell Batteries
The use of built-in rechargeable battery cells has long been on the rise, but disposable batteries are still used in numerous office devices like mice, remotes, etc. Disposing of these batteries is environmentally unfriendly at the best of times, and most people simply throw the dead batteries in the garbage can. Fortunately, USBCell has released batteries that users can simply recharge over and over again using any USB port on a computer or charging station. Instead of throwing away dozens of batteries a year and leaving them to drip harmful, acidic chemicals into groundwater supplies, office workers can now simply recharge their wireless mouse or remote batteries when they get low.

Cables Unlimited Eco-Friendly Battery-Free USB Wireless Optical Mouse
Speaking of wireless mouse batteries, Cables has released a wireless mouse that receives it operating power directly from its mouse pad. The wired mouse pad plugs into a USB port, but the mouse itself is wireless and battery-free. The mouse works using RFID technology and features all of the buttons to which people have become accustomed to on their mice. Users can enjoy the freedom of a wireless mouse without having to constantly replace or recharge batteries for use in said mouse, helping the environment along the way.

EcoStapler
The stapler has long been an office staple, anchoring desk corners and attaching papers to one another for decades. Few people question the efficiency of staplers, and few people view thin, metal staples as a grave environmental threat. While staples themselves are unlikely to be responsible for overflowing landfills, using fewer staples will save on metal in the long run. The EcoStapler uses a folding technique to affix up to three sheets of paper together, reducing the need for staples and paper clips. This stapler is small and cheap, costing roughly the same in space and money as does a normal, metal-using stapler.
There are numerous other eco-friendly office gadgets out there; larger office equipment like computers and copiers are also often available in more economical designs. Why a Website and Social Media Presence is a Must in Business

Websites have become more and more available to businesses small and large over the past few years. There are free template options from sites such as WordPress which allow you to create your own site with only the small price of hosting to pay for. Or you can choose to invest in a web design and developer team who can create your own bespoke website, which can be a better option for those looking to sell online.

However, although this is the case, many businesses are yet to venture online and create an online business awareness which could in fact be limiting. There are several reasons to take the leap and invest the time and money

Humanize your business...

Social media in particular is a great place to communicate with your customers in an informal way. It is instant, so you can gain some great feedback from your followers of fans. Therefore if you are planning the launch of a new product, you can gain valuable feedback and suggestions which can help you develop your products to fit the demand.

It also provides the opportunity to reach hundreds of potential new customers from a variety of locations and backgrounds, there is also the opportunity to advertise through Facebook which can lead to your company name and products being seen by thousands.

Depending on how involved you wish to get with social media, you can also upload images of your company behind the scenes which can generate a lot of interest and company awareness.

Social media in general is a great informal way to interact with other businesses and customers, and can help you get to know others, and spread the word about your company.

Good research point for customers...

Some people like to do a little research before contacting a company. Websites and social media are a great first base for customers to do this. They can see what others have to say about your company, and find out all the information they may wish to know before getting in contact or making a purchase.

Gain wider range of customers...

With Google searches and social media, you have the opportunity to gain website hits from a wide range of people either locally or internationally. If you invest in search engine optimisation, you will significantly increase your website traffic and in turn profits, but having a website alone means those who have been recommended your services can find you instantly online, and you will appear in searches which are related to what you provide.

Saves time...

If you have a website which can answer all the vital questions a customer might want to ask, you can save a lot of time from email and telephone queries, as your website will be able to answer more new customer queries straight away. Not only does this save you time responding to queries, but it also means your customers get the answers they are looking for instantly, meaning no other competitor can nip in and steal your customers, as you would have provided all the information up front and shown what you have to offer.

Setting up a website can be daunting, but it is really worth pursuing. While in the early days it will take time to develop, the hard work will soon pay off, and you will begin to gain profits from your online presence.

Why Is Tea Associated With The British?

Why Is Tea Associated With The British?
Tea has become the most common drink of the British and even more appreciated than Coffee. The first tea came into Europe in 1610 on Dutch ships. In 1658 the first Tea related advertisement featured in a London newspaper.

Imports - Tea had been imported to Portugal by their trade merchants in Japan and China. Catherine of Braganza, Charles II’s second Portuguese queen, pioneered the act of drinking tea that broadened rapidly and reached all the way through the country and to the English.

In 1750, Tea gradually became a drink of the high society in Britain as surprisingly, during those times the cheapest tea was more than one-third of the cost of a laborer’s wage. Tea, originally a discovery of China was introduced to India and from there the trade came to England. It is also said that explorers like Marco Polo brought the tea culture of the Indian Royals to Britain.
Tea became so popular that Fernand Braudel, a historian and writer questioned, "Whether it was true that Tea replaced gin as the new drink in England?” By 1766, "tea fleets" were ever-growing and proving invaluable to the British and other Europeans, not only because it was easily cultivated, but also because it was easily prepared.

Afternoon Tea concept - Afternoon Tea was made famous around 1800 by the Duchess of Bedford, Anna Russel, to kill the huger pangs between lunch and dinner. It was an afternoon break and a light meal. Gradually, tea drinking developed into a classy sociable ceremony. Tea gardens were established where couples could take a stroll in the afternoon and have tea with cakes, bread and butter. Tea parties became popular with the then high class society. Soon after, with trade flourishing, tea became even more popular and available to the masses.

Industrial Revolution - Some historians suggest that tea played an important role in the British Industrial Revolution. Due to the stimulants present in tea it turned into an afternoon custom accompanied with sugary snacks amongst the workers, which improved their efficiency and the working hours of the workers; this energized their capacity to work late hours.

Protest - Tea also became a topic of protest while America was still a part of Britain. Britain imposed high taxes on tea so when colonists decided to take revenge, they entered the docked ship of British East India Company and dumped all of the tea in water, an incident that famously because known as ‘The Boston Tea Party’.

Tea in Britain was traditionally brewed in a China teapot using freshly boiled water and the tea leaves were left for a few minutes. For the sweet tooth, some milk and little sugar were added to give extra flavour. Over a period of time Tea made its mark on the British and became a part of its Royal culture, spreading all over the country. Today it is still considered one of the most highly consumed beverages of the British.

Why User Generated Content is Putting Your Website at Risk

Why User Generated Content is Putting Your Website at Risk
Many companies are enlisting the help of user generated content for their websites, social media accounts or blogs. User generated content refers to content that is contributed by website users and not admin of the site.

Wikipedia is a great example of a site that completely utilizes user generated content, and travel review sites such as TripAdvisor are a good example of sites that use partial user generated content.

Most companies are using this tactic because of its many advantages. User generated content is ensures volume, and if the content is quality, it can help improve a website's search engine optimization. But along with its advantages, there are a few disadvantages of using user generated content on your site, and it's important to know what they are before using it for your site.

1. You don't have much control over the content.
It's a good idea to put a user agreement and guidelines on your site, but it won't keep people from posting whatever they want. While you can do your best to monitor what is being said and remove any profanity or inappropriate content, you still don't have control over what will be said.

For example, you may allow user generated content on your site in hopes that your users will rant and rave about your products or share news about your industry, but it could end up becoming a hub for users to complain about your industry or your products, which will completely deter your efforts.

You also have to take the word of your users. Chances are you're not going to spend the time verifying that everything users are saying on your site is true, and if someone posts a large amount of false information, it could end up severely hurting your brand.

2. It requires massive database creation.
User generated content works best when it's for your own website, social account or blog. This means that you will need to either update your existing database or have one created that allows users to post content to your site.

This will require the skill of a programmer. Not only is the creation of the database time consuming, but it can also be extremely pricey, especially if a programmer is starting from scratch. Before you decide to use user generated content, you should first decide if revamping your site is within your marketing budget.

3. Your brand will be associated with the content.
Even though the content is coming from someone else, if it is sitting on your website, other website visitors will associate this content with your brand. If a user shares their opinion on your site, other users will see the opinion and connect it with your brand. Even if you do a great job reminding users that information on the site does not reflect your company's personal beliefs, it won't stop others from associating the two.

4. There's a bigger chance of vial mishaps.
When you put an everyday person in charge of your content, you have a bigger chance of having a major viral mishap arise. It's easy for a user to post the wrong comment, video or image to your site, and once it's posted, it is available for all to see—that is, until you are made aware of it and can take it down yourself, but by that time, it will have already spread. If one of your users accidentally uploaded a picture of him from his bachelor party instead of that infographic he wanted to share, your website will be gaining a great deal of traffic, but not for the right reasons.

Just like every other marketing tactic, user generated content has its pros and its cons. It's important for you to have a thorough understanding of the disadvantages and decide whether or not they're worth the risk.

Spot market trading in silver investment

Spot market trading in silver investment
Spot marketing trading is a very common practice in modern commodities futures and in fact, it is one of the approaches taken in trading silver.  Now often there is a price that is quoted in leading markets for silver for immediate transactions and this is what is called the spot price. In many cases in spot market trading, the immediate transaction where the spot price of the commodity is quoted should be executed and finalized within one day or two the latest.

However when spot trading in sliver; there are important things that may influence the quoted price. The main and most significant factor that affects spot market price of silver is its supply and emend among others listed below.

Supply and demand
Supply and demand is the significant factor that may determine the spot market of silver in global markets. Now the world has numerous commodity markets that are trading in silver. The thing is many of them will set a quoted price at the spot market depending on the prices quoted at the COMEX (a section of the New York and London Merchandise regarded as the base of global silver trading) the spot market then will move and vary on an hourly basis depending on supply and demand of the commodity. The trend that is most observed is theoretically proven and as the demand for silver grows the prices do go up. However speculation in the demand and supply of the commodity may also lead to price fluctuation.

Industrial factors such as mines closing and opening
Industrial factors are also very significant in determining the spot market prices of silver. The world has different mining companies dealing with silver and therefore if there have been some industrial factors that will reduce the supply of the commodity; there will be scarcity and therefore high demand leading to price rise. However the important thing in silver investment is the supply to meet the demand. Even if the demand keeps rising and the supply is good, prices will still rise.  Political climate on the silver producing nations may also influence the supply chain.

The global economy
The status of the global economy is highly influential in the commodities market not just in silver alone. Silver prices particularly in most markets trading on diverse commodities hardly weather adverse economic climate and are hugely attributed with low gains under such circumstances. So in other words the demand can be there and the supply can be good but again the global economy may in one instance shoot down the demand for silver leading to low prices. Either way trading in the commodities market should be technical and therefore investors should be able to foresee these price variations.

The Best Exercises for Runners

Complement your running with these great exercises.
Running has always been seen as one of the most effective exercises ever. Not only is it a natural form of exercise and requires only a pair of running shoes, but it's proven to burn large amounts of calories very quickly, even more than biking. Runners benefit from a number of positive health effects such as: Stable blood sugar levels, a healthy heart, healthy arteries, a healthy cardiovascular system, and strong lungs. Extensive periods of running have also proven to reduce the risk of heart attacks by allowing arteries to open and let blood flow throughout the body. Although running is a great tool for getting into superior mental and physical shape, it is only a single exercise and should be used with a combination of other exercises.

Runners that tend to stray away from other forms of exercise and rely strictly on running are more vulnerable to muscle injuries and weakened joints, as compared to those that use a variety of methods during a work-out. Not only will continuous running get boring after a while, but as the body adjusts to the running, it limits the full potential of athletes and what they are truly capable of. Adding in extra stretches and mixing things up with other running exercises is a positive way to leave runners in a better and healthier condition.
  • Stretching - Stretching the hamstrings is a great place to start. Begin by placing the feet arms length apart, lower the buttocks until it's parallel with the floor, and adjust the knees to make a 90 degree angle, and then raise until standing. Repeat this around 15 times with sets of 3. For calve stretches, find a set of stairs or a type of ledge that is easily accessible. Use the ball of the front of one foot and place it on the edge of the stair or ledge and allow the rest of the foot to hang freely and be even with stair. Try to hold this stance for up to 30 seconds and then switch. For maximum efficiency do this stretch 2 - 3 times on each foot.
  • Longer Runs - For better health and increased endurance, running longer distances or increasing the amount of time a runner runs is an excellent way to increase one's strength and agility. With each run increase the distance or amount of time only slightly. Increase it more and more until it becomes extremely difficult and the runner is fatigued. This will allow the body to get used to running past its limits and achieving more physically and mentally. If runners don't have access good running landscape, they can always buy treadmill. Runners can also by cut back on the amount of walking breaks or eliminate them altogether.
  • Speed - Using speed intervals while running is a great tool marathoners' and runners use to build speed and endurance. Make sure to bring along a stop watch during a run and then sprint at a fast speed for up to 90 seconds, then return to a normal pace for 2 - 3 minutes. Repeat this for the entire run. The length and time of sprints can vary depending on the entire length of the run. Use shorter, faster speed intervals for shorter runs and longer intervals for longer runs.
  • Hills - Hill sessions for runners are similar to body builders lifting heavy weights. Running up and down hills is great for building leg strength. Start slow and take shorter strides when running up the hill, and stand tall and let the legs coast down the to the bottom of the hill. It's best to run up and down a hill after the end of a run. Repeat the hill run until the runner is completely exhausted, incorporating more up's and down's each time.
