Chattakkari says the story of an Anglo Indian girl which was originally played by actress Lakshmi in the older version of the film. It was directed by K S Sethumadhavan in the year 1974.This time it is the son of earlier director who is behind the venture - Santhosh Sethumadhavan .He has teamed up with one of the most innovative producer of Mollywood, Suresh Kumar under the banner of Revathy Kalamandir to remake the film with his fine touch.
Shamna Kasim(Poorna) will don the role of Julie which has been turned down by Mythili and Nithya Menon.Hemanth Menon plays the male lead in the film.
