Ordinary Movie Review - The Journey Would Not End Soon.
Do you like this story?
Ordinary Malayalam Film Review
Shine Kerala Review rating - 7.5/10
Ordinary Movie is not ordinary. It is an extra ordinary work from Sugeeth and of course wonderful portrayal of charchters by Kunjacko Boban, Biju Menon, Baburaj and Shritha.
Ordinary film is the story or a travelogue of
a conductor and driver of a KSRTC bus in an off beat village. The film begins with Kunjacko Boban joining the job as a conductor to the bus for Gavi where he meets Biju Menon and travels to Gavi. The rest of the story is all about how well Kunjacko Boban gets to know the village and their people. Mixed in all this is a love story which develops along the story line.
The performances by youngsters Hemath Menon Asif Ali and Jishnu works well within the frame work of the story line. With a small twist which most of us never expects the film promises full house entertainment.
Positives
Kunjacko Boban - He does a pretty good job of the role with no over shown emotions. Apt and good in his portrayal.
Biju Menon - Everyone watching the film would get to feel the Biju Menon factor in dialogue delivery right from the first 10 minutes into the film. Biju Menon maintains the tempo through out the film .He excels particularly in the slang factor.
Shritha - Does her job pretty well.
Sugeeth - Wonderful job at the story selection and direction.
Negatives
Anne Augustine - her charchter has the weight-age but her screen presence in the film is pretty bogged down.comes to therefore mainly in the second half where the story line emerges.she does a good job at her acting. but simply her charchter could have been given a bit more screen space.
Baburaj - Don't get me wrong. Baburaj did a wonderful job in the first 30 minutes of the film. Audience loved him for that. But what seems to go against the film is the fact that Baburaj seems to be notoriously missing after the first 30 minutes into the film. No reason told and not even a single shot of Baburaj. Funny that Baburaj alone took the film forward in the first 30 minutes.
Verdict
The film is a wonderful watch for all. Must watch for any ardent movie goer.

Review from Hindu
"It is a shame that even the new-generation filmmakers do not think twice about including a scene where the woman character, the leading lady in this case, being slapped by the hero"
The only malayalam paper that pointed it out was Madhyamam.
Very True and only in Malayalam movies we see this in the whole Indian or World Cinema where atrocities against women - verbal and physical - are glorified. They think only then hero will become a hero.

inclusion of such scenes does not make a good film bad or bad film good.
Wonderful extraordinary film.
