video conferencing in kerala jails

video conferencing  in  kerala  jails

The new introduction of the kerala government is to introduce the system of videoconferencing in almost all the jails of the state. This has been facilitated to reduce the expenses of escorting the prisoners from jails to the courts for the repeated trials. Further this move reduces the chance of the prisoners to escape during the journey.

Now this system is available in only the main 3 prisons of the state. The move to introduce this system might prove to be a landmark in kerala, considering the fact that not many states have this system of technology.

This further emphasizes the idea that kerala is moving technology oriented under the regime of oomen chandy. The kerala chief minister had earlier created history by becoming the first chief minister to introduce the close circuit cameras in the chief ministers office and streamed it on line live in Internet. The live functioning of the chief ministers office can be viewed by anyone on Internet, thus reducing the doubts of corruption and illegal practices.
